Hi 08ers! I'm 8 months out now and I've lost 118 so far. I'm in a weightloss slump now though.... :( .....and I still have 100 to go....poo! But I think I just need to change up my workout regiment. That's been the hardest part for me since I'm an asthmatic on top of being overweight. As for food issues, I've been really lucky and seem to be able to tolerate most foods and even small amounts of real sugar. Here's to 2009 and more new beginings for us all!

I just barely made this class of 08! haha... I am close to a year post op now and yes i'm feeling great and doing great after a very rough year for me. I wasn't the typical patient... I had complications after the first surgery and ended up having two more surgeries... the last was October 8th, 08 and that was finally a success. They fixed what had gone wrong and i'm finally doing great. I've started excercising at a gym and it feels great to have the energy to do a 45 minute work out, when it was only 2 months ago I couldn't stand up out of a chair without help.
My weight January of 08 post OP was 305 lbs and today I weigh 147.6 lbs. It's an amazing thing to lose over half of your body size. I feel better about myself and even more important I am feeling healthy.
As far as having temptation to eat in my Old ways or habits, I have not had problems dealing with that. I don't crave things that I used to... I was a late night nibbler POST OP and I honestly don't ever really feel terribly hungry. I eat every 2 or 3 hours and I stay feeling satisfied and content most of the time. I baked some cookies with my kids this weekend and used the Splenda Baking blend.. the cookies came out great and I am able to eat one cookie with some coffee and it tastes great and doesn't bother me or upset my stomache.
Anyway, I'll close this one for now, just hang in there all of you. Every week things get better... each month you will be amazed at the difference. Don't stress of give up on feeling great. And if you have a slip up or a period where the weight isn't coming off, don't stress.... its normal to have those periods.... the weight will come off and you all will be just fine.

I had my surgery Dec 1. Everything seems to be going really well except I am expierencing being really tired and sleepy. Also, the vitamins are really hard for me to chew up. Do you have any ideas on how to take the vitamins?
